Tummy Tuck Fairfax, VA

The abdomen is a focus of concern for many men and women, even those who spend countless hours dieting or at the gym. That’s because factors such as weight fluctuations, pregnancy and aging can cause the skin to stretch out and loosen, and stubborn pockets of fat to persist, contributing to a flabby and untoned abdomen. If you are bothered by any of these aesthetic problems, tummy tuck surgery with Dr. Reza Kordestani can enhance the way you look and feel.

A talented plastic surgeon, Dr. Kordestani completed his training at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, which is recognized as one of the nation’s top institutions for plastic surgery. Here, he worked alongside world-class plastic surgeons to refine his technical skill and ability. Dr. Kordestani is up to date on the latest practices in plastic surgery, including techniques that focus on sculpting and contouring the abdomen rather than simply tightening skin and muscles. Using these advanced techniques allows Dr. Kordestani to deliver more beautiful and natural-looking tummy tuck results.

What Tummy Tuck Corrects

Also known as abdominoplasty, tummy tuck excises loose, excess skin on the abdomen. The procedure also repairs separated or weakened abdominal muscles for a flatter appearance. When appropriate, Dr. Kordestani uses liposuction to remove small pockets of fat on the abdomen and waist. He may also remove fat on the hips and lower back to comprehensively treat the midsection.

Your tummy tuck procedure will be tailored to your needs. Dr. Kordestani will meet with you personally to discuss your aesthetic needs and goals in detail and work with you to develop the details of your tummy tuck procedure.

Procedure Details

Dr. Kordestani performs tummy tuck surgery as an outpatient procedure, under general anesthesia. During the procedure, he creates an incision just above the pubic hairline, extending from hipbone to hipbone. The incision is placed low enough that it will be concealed by most underwear and swimsuit bottoms. Dr. Kordestani will remove unwanted skin and suture together the underlying muscles. He will also carefully remove fat to create the desired contours. Through an additional incision, the navel may be repositioned higher on the abdomen for a more natural-looking appearance.

Some patients may benefit from a modified version of tummy tuck, known as “mini” tummy tuck. This less invasive procedure focuses on correcting the lower abdomen only and typically uses a shorter incision than that used for full tummy tuck.

What to Expect After Your Tummy Tuck Procedure

The initial recovery period for tummy tuck takes one to two weeks. Dr. Kordestani will provide you with detailed post-op instructions to follow. He will also play an active role in your aftercare, meeting with you several times to monitor your healing progress.

The results of tummy tuck can last for many years, so long as you practice healthy lifestyle habits, including eating a well-balanced diet and regularly exercising.

If you are tired of dieting and exercising only to see unsatisfying results on your abdomen, consider tummy tuck with top plastic surgeon Dr. Kordestani. To schedule a consultation, please call or email his office in Woodbridge and McLean, VA and Chevy Chase, MD today.
